You started your own pager business at the age 16, so have you ever had a 9-5 job?

Yes, I have had a few… I believe in order to truly be successful you must be able to create a firm foundation for yourself and/or your family. Success isn’t only Ministry or business but as a husband and father you must be a provider. Many Entrepreneurs fall into the trap of quitting there 9-5 to pursue their dreams. Being proactive and stepping out on faith is a beautiful thing, but God also expects us to be wise. Working your 9-5 and pursuing your dream is the ultimate business decision, it breeds balance, discipline and endurance. Don’t get me wrong: without faith you are nowhere, but use wisdom and know whether it is God or just you wanting what you want.


Where and did you feel comfortable in that 9-5 type of setting?

I have worked in banking and in education. While the banking industry was great, education was where I felt most comfortable (within Corporate America). I enjoy assisting others whether it’s in fulfilling their entrepreneurial visions or reaching there career goals. But let’s keep it real, there no fulfillment like running your own show…


Public Paging Wireless, local convenience store, Wisdom Computer Corporation and now 3V magazine, where
did you get the know how to start and run your own business?

I was the kid who would sell you candy in the 6th grade. I’ve always had an innate ability to envision and run business. God given me wisdom and a gift for business which is unimaginable. My gift coupled with formal education and continued learning has been huge for my business acumen.



Out of all of the business you have started and managed which one you find more fulfilling? Why?

Successful businessmen know that some business ventures are more successful then others. I am not the exception. 3V Magazine is the one, 3V is what I do, what I live on a daily basis. I have dedicated my life to walk in 3V. 3= completion or divine & V= vision. To walk in 3V means to walk out each area of your life in the Complete Vision Christ has for you. I find 3V the most fulfilling because I know I have tapped into my purpose and have learned to edify others while edifying myself.



5.What is the key to success?

Vision, Passion and Purpose are the keys to success. Let me explain.

The rise of anything great that has had a lasting impact on our world has always begun with people of Vision, Purpose, and Passion.

First, it is essential that one who desires to effectuate great change have a Vision. No vision is complete without God. You must also know who you are, what you’re called to do and who you are called to serve. In addition, you must have the insight to know that what’s envisioned can indeed become reality, the faith in God to steer it and the ability to make it happen.

Secondly, one with a Vision must know Purpose. He/She must fully realize and understand the relevance of his/her Vision and its impact in the lives of those who embrace it.

Lastly, once the Vision is Complete and its Purpose is realized, Passion is the driving force that works to bring it all into fruition. Passion is the conduit and vehicle by which Vision and Purpose are carried out. 


Do you mentor others?

Yes, I made a vow to God when I first began this journey, when he put me in a position to mentor I would. There’s no way to fulfill all the requests but my mentors have shown me one aspect of true success is in how you give back and pour into others. I enjoy mentoring in business and in ministry.

Tell us about your vision for 3V.

3V is not simply publishing, TV programs or internet radio. 3V is a Complete lifestyle brand. The 3 represents the biblical number for Completion and V represents Vision. Complete Vision, for Christ, Life, Health, Wealth and Style. The worlds view of Complete or ultimate vision is 3D, 3 Dimensions. To see the 3rd dimension you need to go into a movie theater and put on the funny glasses. The glasses and picture projected are designed to alter your vision in order trick the brain into accepting the projected illusion. Therefore, creating the third dimension. But when we submit to God’s design there aren’t any movies, funny glasses, trick or illusions. Once we have a Complete Vision of Christ’s fulfillment in all areas of our life that next dimension becomes a reality. 3V is a lifestyle brand encompassing an era of products and services. This brand has been developed to help you discover and walkout Christ Complete Vision for your life male and female, young and old.



What is unique about 3V?

We push the envelope. 3V does not just stop at what’s expected. With strategic alliances, this brand will become a household name representing Christ is each aspect of life.



Who is your audience?

Our target audience started with Christian African American men. Since our inception God is stretching the vision to encompass all races of believers and to win the non believer. As we continue to grow our target will encompass all ages male and female.



You also have a radio station online that provides Jazz, R&B, Gospel and Talk.  Some Christians may say,
you should only play Gospel, what is your response?

We are very selective with the content on 3V Radio. The gospel is to be taken to the entire world. Only teaching and preaching to the 4 walls of the church isn’t effective ministry. The response we have gotten from believers and non believers concerning the station has been great; souls are being won and believers are finding a spiritually clean listening experience. That’s the mission of 3V Radio.




What you do for a living some may feel like it is all fun and pleasure, publishing a magazine, internet
radio.

I am a servant, husband and father which call for me to wear many hats. Yes, I love what I do and have a great time doing it but at the same time balancing home, managing people, meeting deadlines and pressing toward the mark of the upward call in Christ isn’t an easy task. I believe once we find our purpose our work becomes enjoyable but believe me it’s not all fun games and autographs.


How would you describe what you do?

I am a servant trying to walk this walk just like everyone else.




Do you feel like you have accomplished everything you want in your career? If no what is one major thing you would like to accomplish.

I can’t name just one, but no I have not accomplished everything. I have not been able to give millions away and I have not been able to be a Godly example on Oprah. These two things mean a lot to me. I have always been a giver by nature and I want to be able to share Christ’s goodness on Oprah’s show. People need to see that you can profess Christ and still enjoy your life. Christianity isn’t all stuffy like some people believe. You can live right and still enjoy yourself and Oprah’s show is just the platform to get the message out.

When you stumble or fall make sure you use the experience as a learning lesson. Life, Ministry and Business are full of ups and downs but as long as you stay true to Christ and stay in tuned to the essence of who you are success is inevitable.
